Overview
Capri is a place of legend, a playground of the super rich, and today the principal destination of day-trippers from the mainland. Steep cliffs, amazing views, elegant villas, Capri is the most loved island by the elegant plus cosmopolitan public. Towards the end of the 19th century the poet Kopisch and the fabulist Andersen gave loving description of Capri’s beauties. From that very moment the island began to attract all different type of tourist: Kings, archaeologist, writers, Zar Nicholas II, Emperor Francis Joseph, Queen Victoria of Sweden, Graham Green, Grace Fields, Axel Munthe.
There are two towns Capri and Anacapri and several hamlets. From its highest peak, Monte Solaro, 589 m. it is possible to enjoy a 360° view of the island.
